The challenge
Small hospitality operators across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and neighboring countries needed reservation and payment tools built for their reality: mobile-first, budget devices, and inconsistent connectivity — not a heavyweight system designed for large hotel chains.
What we built
- A guest booking portal plus an operator dashboard covering reservations, room assignment, and check-in/check-out.
- Mobile wallet payment collection alongside card and cash options.
- Multi-property support from a single dashboard, with occupancy, revenue, and room-popularity reporting.
- Performance tuning specifically for slower connections and lower-end Android devices, since that's what most staff actually use on-site.
The outcome
Lala Pad now serves small hospitality operators (1–100+ rooms) across eight East African countries with a platform that stays fast where infrastructure is inconsistent.
