The challenge
Enterprise rent-collection platforms are built for large portfolios and don't fit landlords running a handful of bedsitters or single rooms. Those landlords still needed automatic reconciliation and reminders — just without the enterprise overhead (or Pangaji's own framing: "not for Yardi").
What we built
- An M-Pesa STK Push integration that collects rent directly into the landlord's own Paybill — Pangaji never holds tenant funds.
- Automatic payment-to-unit reconciliation, so landlords stop manually matching M-Pesa messages to tenants.
- SMS reminders before and after due dates, auto-generated receipts, and delinquency tracking.
- Room on the roadmap for Airtel Money and T-Kash alongside M-Pesa.
The outcome
Pangaji is in early access, free to landlords managing 1–30 units, with core payment collection and reconciliation live in production.
